About the speakers

Yannick Villeneuve 

  •  Yannick Villeneuve holds a Bachelor in Pharmacy and a Master in Hospital Pharmacy from the Faculty of Pharmacy of the Université Laval in Quebec. He continued his training by completing a fellowship in geriatric pharmacy at Guy's & St Thomas NHS Foundation Trust in London. He is currently employed by the Institut universitaire de gériatrie de Montréal (IUGM) where he works as a geriatric pharmacist in acute- and long-term care, rehabilitation and outpatient clinic. He is also a lecturer in the Pharm D. program at the Faculty of Pharmacy of the Université de Montréal. As a clinical research associate at the IUGM Research Centre, he actively participates with his colleagues in research to promote medication safety for older adults

Louise Papillon-Ferland

  • Louise Papillon-Ferland obtained her Bachelor in Pharmacy from the University of Montreal and completed her Master in Pharmacy Practice (health care facility option). She then completed a specialized residency in geriatrics at the McGill University Health Centre and the Institut Universitaire de Gériatrie de Montréal (IUGM).  At the Faculty of Pharmacy of the Université de Montréal, she is currently an Assistant Clinical Professor in geriatrics and is affiliated with the Michel Saucier Pharmaceutical Chair in Health and Aging. She works at the IUGM, where she is involved in the outpatient clinic assessing patients with geriatric syndromes and polypharmacy. She is a member of the Health Professionals Committee of the Canadian Medication Appropriateness and Deprescribing Network as well as member of the Regroupement de pharmaciens experts en gériatrie (Pharmacists’ Expert Group in geriatrics) of the Association des pharmaciens des établissements de santé du Québec.
