Join us in 2018 at the 44th Annual CSHP Western Branches Banff Seminar at the Banff Centre in Alberta
The 2018 Banff Seminar Planning Committee is excited to welcome you to the 44th Annual CSHP Western Branches Banff Seminar, happening in beautiful Banff, Alberta on March 16th-18th, 2018! Our conference theme this year will be “#CSHPBanff: Pharmacy in the Inform@ation Age”. Modern technology allows us to stay more connected and gives us seemingly endless access to health information. This year we’ve set out to explore how best to utilize technology to create opportunities for our delegates to learn and stay connected. We are excited to announce that we’ll be launching a conference App to help disseminate information and provide a platform for delegates to network with one another!
Once again, we are planning an event that boasts an excellent educational program, as well as providing time to relax and socialize with peers. We are very excited about our expert lineup of speakers that will inspire, challenge, and enlighten all of us. Friday afternoon will feature a plenary session with a moderated discussion, engaging all delegates in discussing conflicts of interest in our daily practice. This will be followed by our Friday evening social event, where we invite you to break out your 80-90s workout gear and matching track suits in honoor of our keynote speakers – Hal Johnson and Joanne McLeod of BodyBreak! Our Saturday program will be extended this year, which will allow us to host facilitated poster sessions for the first time at the Banff Seminar! This will be followed by the banquet on Saturday evening and a shorter Sunday program. Our preliminary education schedule is now available online – we hope you will agree that we have a diverse line-up of speakers with informative topics to share with us.
The Banff Seminar Planning Committee is a group of seventeen hard-working volunteers who work throughout the year to organize this conference. I would like to take the opportunity to thank all of them for the time and effort they have committed towards planning the speakers, activities, and other logistics of this conference.
Our committee would also like to give a huge thank you to our industry sponsors who provide us with funding to offset some of the conference expenses. Their sponsorship ensures that our registration fees remain affordable for pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, students, and others to attend the conference. We are pleased to announce that we are seeking CCCEP accreditation for both pharmacists and pharmacy technicians again this year.
Finally, and most importantly, we would like to thank all of you! It is only with your ongoing support and attendance that this conference is possible. This year’s Banff Seminar is sure to provide you with opportunities to connect and will be packed with information that will challenge your assumptions and expand your knowledge. I hope that you’ll join us for a weekend getaway in the mountains that will leave you feeling connected and educated!
Looking forward to connecting with all of you,
Chair, Banff Seminar Planning Committee
