HSO Consultation on its Antimicrobial Stewardship Safety Intervention standard

Health Standards Organization (HSO) has opened a public consultation on its Antimicrobial Stewardship Safety Intervention standard. The consultation closes at midnight on September 30, 2019.

The standard addresses the following topics:

  • Planning and developing the antimicrobial stewardship program based on evidence and best practices
  • Implementing and maintaining the antimicrobial stewardship program
  • Prescribing antimicrobials and providing care
  • Monitoring antimicrobial use and antimicrobial resistance

According to HSO’s website, the “revision of the standard is being led by HSO’s Working Group WG004 Antimicrobial Stewardship, with oversight by the HSO TC004 Medication Management.”

You can access the draft standard and the link to the survey here. (CSHP will not be collating or submitting responses from CSHP members for this consultation. The survey is designed so that you can start it, save your responses, and resume your work later.)
