Open Access Webinar: Seasonal Influenza 2020-2021 Recommendations in the Context of COVID-19


The National Collaborating Centre for Infectious Diseases (NCCID) is hosting an online open access webinar to provide updates on the seasonal influenza 2020–2021 recommendations in the context of COVID-19.

This webinar will discuss recommended use of antivirals, vaccinations, and infection and prevention control measures to reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission during vaccine administration. These recommendations are made by the National Advisory Committee on Immunization (NACI) and Association of Medical Microbiology and Infectious Disease (AMMI) Canada.

The presentation will also be followed by a Q&A session. Please submit questions of interest prior to the webinar to Aleksandra.Wierzbowski@umanitoba.ca.

Speakers: 
Dr. Ian Gemmill is the past chair of NACI and NACI’s influenza working group. He was a member of NACI for over 14 years.

Dr. Gerald Evans is the past President of AMMI Canada from 2009–2011 and a member of the AMMI Canada Influenza Working Group. He is currently the Editor-in-Chief of the Official Journal of the Association of Medical Microbiology and Infectious Disease Canada.

Dr. Robyn Harrison is a member of the Alberta Advisory Committee on Immunization, the incoming Chair for the NACI Influenza Working Group, and a member of the Prevention and Control of Occupational Infections in Health Care Settings Guideline Working Group.
