Ryan Kerzner kicks off the Anticoagulation Webinar Series with a focused session on how Antithrombosis Stewardship programs can reduce anticoagulation‑related harm and support safer care for complex patients.
On Feb. 26 dive into real‑world cases, gain evidence‑based tools to confidently manage high‑risk patients and deliver safer antithrombotic care.
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
— Discuss the role of Antithrombosis Stewardship programs in reducing anticoagulation-related adverse events and describe actionable interventions to optimize antithrombotic therapies
— Analyze specific case scenarios involving advanced agent-specific issues and propose safe management strategies to improve antithrombotic safety
— Differentiate key challenges in managing anticoagulation therapy in two complex patient populations (end-stage renal disease, obesity)
About Ryan Kerzner
Ryan Kerzner completed his B.Pharm in 2007, followed by a M.Sc. (Advanced Pharmacotherapy) in 2008, both from the Université de Montréal. He has been a pharmacist at the Jewish general hospital in Montreal since 2008. He initially worked in Internal Medicine and in 2011, he also co-developed the hospital's Antimicrobial Stewardship program. While working in Internal Medicine, Ryan always had an interest in Anticoagulation. In 2019, he officially joined the hospital's Thrombosis department (CETAC: Center of Excellence in Thrombosis and Anticoagulation Care) and was involved in developing a first of its kind Antithrombotic Stewardship program. Ryan has published on this subject and has given several talks on Anticoagulation. He is also a member of Thrombosis Canada and the Anticoagulation Forum.
