Presented with: CSHP Ontario Branch
Session sponsored by: Marcan
Learning objectives
- By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
- Critically appraise current evidence on the safety and efficacy of direct oral anticoagulants (DOACs) in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD).
- Compare and contrast the pharmacology and pharmacokinetic profiles of available DOACs, with emphasis on kidney clearance, dosing considerations, and implications for CKD management.
- Identify key knowledge gaps and uncertainties in the evidence guiding DOAC use across the spectrum of CKD, highlighting areas for clinical decision making and future research.
